There are currently 23 mainstream Pokémon movies that have been featured in theatres, made-for-movie, or released via a major streaming service like Netflix.*
Over the years, the Pokemon Company has changed the style and format of its movies. Most are cartoon anime, but recently they have released a live-action film called "Detective Pikachu" and a CGI remake of "Pokemon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back".
